Most of us, who live in real world, do not have time or desire to search for true knowledge or great wisdom. We are happy to acquire enough information to function in this world and foster our career.

Basic instinct tells us pursuing information is more profitable than pursuing wisdom - which is perceived as abstract thoughts and ideas. But, the true knowledge that cannot be logically or mathematically verified is useless. An example of true knowledge is "gravitational constant" which is a physical law of nature. The laws of physics are made of time-invariant variables; therefore, these laws are true for all time.

On the other hand most of the laws and theories of social science and business are temporary and design to produce immediate profit. These temporary theories are causing catastrophic losses ranging from stock market crash to ecological disaster. So, the solution is in finding the natural laws or time-invariant variables for social science and business.

The famous (or infamous) phrase "think outside the box" became a cliché. It is becaue when it comes to really thinking outside the box, most of us forget that there is always a bigger box outside our “regular box of thinking” - like the Russian nesting dolls. The challenge is to find that bigger box. In this webpage I have tried to accumulate some interesting ideas for future researchers of social science who would like to take the challenge. Please read the section Re-thinking Research
